Animorphia – Meeting Kerby Rosanes (flipthrough and video)

I was fortunate enough to meet the illustrator of Animorphia colouring book – Kerby Rosanes. His book is highly detailed and contains many little original characters. He is a really humble guy who is passionate and skilled in drawing. I was able to watch a live drawing at Dymock’s bookstores. Click the video below to see how it went and a flipthrough of the book.

Art Supply Haul

Hi everyone, I recently received the lovely gift of an art shop (Dean’s Art) gift voucher from my lovely friends in my lifegroup. Thankyou so much guys! It means so much to me and you can see how excited I am over art supplies. What a nerd….

2. Elements of Art Sketch & Write A5 sketchbook.

2

Offwhite 120 gsm sketch and lined paper. The paper is so smooth to touch. Your pens and pencils glide over the surface really nicely and when erasing on this surface, there is not much paper fibre fallout.

No photo, but here is the link: Sketch & Write A5

Basically, the Dean’s Art website is quite rubbish and products do not seem to be updated regularly. I tried to provide links to the items or something similar. But the store itself is lovely to browse through and a real treat for any art enthusiast.

Here is the website in case you were wondering : Dean’s Art

Finally, here is the Youtube video of me going through all the lovely things above.

Charlie & Co Burgers – Chadstone foodcourt

3

  • Restaurant Name: Charlie & Co Burgers
  • Location: Chadstone Shopping Centre Foodcourt, Chadstone, Victoria, Australia
  • Opening Hours: Monday – Wednesday 9am – 5.30pm, Thursday – Friday 9am – 9pm, Saturday 9am – 6pm, Sunday 10am – 5pm.
  • Costs: $10-15 per burger, $15 – 20 for a meal.

Counted as a fast food restaurant, in the foodcourt, of Chadstone Shopping Centre, Charlie & Co Burgers tend to be overlooked as a good burger joint. I tried it for the first time recently, and it wasn’t too bad. Not fantastic, but not terrible either.

I tried the Classic Charlie Burger and the husband and I got a side of Parmesan Truffle Fries. Fries were really nice. Probably could be a tiny bit more truffle-ey.

How about the burger? (you can’t tell in the picture but…) Mine was a little disappointing as I soon found out after picking it up, that the top and bottom buns had been switched around, and it quickly became rather a nightmare to eat. The top bun (on the bottom) was saturated in the sauce and burger juice, so dissolved pretty promptly as I picked it up. I was left with a burger mess all over my hands. Burger fail Charlie & Co. How do you get that wrong?

Anyway, hubby got the El Mexicano Burger, and he said it was good. Aside from the mess of my burger, the flavours were good and the burger was well-balanced. Just a pity about the dissolving bottom/top bun.

All up, a good, quick-ish (unless you are in the dinner/lunch rush at Chaddy) meal in a foodcourt. Maybe the stand-alone joints in the city fare a little better?

Spirit of Adventure – Draw and Colour with me (video)

My first ever Draw and Colour of one of my favourite art pieces. This verse and image (James 1:2-4) means alot to me and my husband. It speaks of our struggle with having real JOY through the many tragic circumstances we have experienced of late.

Hope you enjoy watching a bit of the process, please forgive that angle filming and how it is missing the front sketch process and back (filming noob :P). But thought it was still worthwhile to share!

Here is the finished work:
